CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Our 2nd Annual Next Up Recruits Middle school camp has came and went but one thing is for sure, it did not disappoint. We were glad to have players from Kentucky and West Virginia show up to put their skills to the test. Once again we had great numbers in the building to be evaluated by our Next up staff, and all-star group of coaches. As we look to continue building on 2 years of successfully finding and giving exposure to the young talent around the region we want to thank you for choosing our brand as a means to help make your player grow. Below are the top 20 and top 40 all-star participants that were selected from this year’s camp.

Richard Irvin 2022 Louisville KY:
A physical guard who can score the ball in a variety of ways, Irvin impressed us with his ability to finish in traffic. Also a strong rebounder, if Irvins handle continues to improve he will rise to one of the top prospects in the 2022 class.

Greg Cole 2023 Louisville KY:
A knockdown outside shooter, Cole impressed us all day with his toughness and hustle. Despite a slight build Cole showed an ability to defend bigger players and got a ton of deflections and loose ball. We will be keeping this young man on our radar.

Jushod Commodore 2023 Augusta, KY:
Commodore is an athletic wing whose motor never stops running, his energy is contagious and he may have been the hardest worker at the camp. While his offensive skill set needs improvement, Commodore gets a ton of put backs and fast break points. Commodore is a winner and should be an immediate varsity contributor.

Jasper Johnson 2024 Versailles, KY:
A smooth lefty PG, Johnson was dominant at camp against players who often times were 2-3 years older then him. A consistent shooter from mid-range and three, Johnson changes speeds effortlessly and is a high IQ floor leader. If his defensive effort improves, Johnson has a chance to a special prospect.

Austin Carr-Cole (Rico) 2022 Louisville Kentucky:
An explosive scorer who can score the ball at all 3 levels, Rico has been playing with Ballard HS Varsity team during summer league. At times he can be out of control and commit unforced turnovers but there is no doubt Rico can take over a game with his scoring ability

Zamareon Mccown 2023 Louisville Kentucky:
Zamareon was the top 3 point shooter at camp and had one game in which he was 6/8 from behind the arc. While undersized Zamareon is as tough as they come and does not back down defensively from bigger guards. For the second year in a row Zamareon made the top 20 All-Star game and he is no doubt one of the top 2023 prospects in Kentucky

Mason May 2023 Lebanon, Kentucky:
A hard nosed guard, May is very physical on both ends of the court. May is tough to defend off the bounce and does a good job drawing fouls and finishing with contact.May’s intangibles make him a coach’s dream on the court as he willing to do all the little things to help his team win.

Brian Griffith 2022 Owensboro, Kentucky:
A crafty PG who is very dangerous in the open court, Griffith plays with great pace and makes his teammates better. A very fundamentally sound player Griffith is a good outside shooter but is at his best when attacking the basket and getting to the paint.

Brytton Walker 2022 Madisonville, Kentucky:
Standing at a legit 6’7 Walker impressed our staff all day with his footwork and ability to finish with either hand. While already possessing an array of post moves, Walker also showed range out to the 3-point line and projects as a future stretch 4. While he needs to improve his conditioning, Walker has huge upside and a chance to be a special offensive player.

Danye Frazier 2022 Madisonville, Kentucky:
A strong guard Frazier has the strength to bully his way into the lane and finish at the rim. While his ball handling needs to improve, Frazier has upside due to his size, athleticism and effort. Frazier was one of the hardest workers at camp and showed great intensity all day on defense.

Cade Stinnett 2022 Greenwood, Kentucky:
Stinnett played like he was in battle mode every game. He never backed down from the competition. He showed his ability to make plays with or without the ball. He was good slashing and attacking the basket, and he showed he could knock down the open shot. Cade was also a willing passer that made the right play.

Hunter Castleberry 2022 Charleston, West Virginia:
Hunter came to our camp last year and played well, but this year he camp with an added 3 inches and with a warriors mentality. Castleberry was the only player to dive on the floor for a loose ball. He also played well on the ball making good finds, creating separation on his jump shot out beyond the arc, and finishing around the basket with either hand.

Quentin Simmons 2023 Louisville, Kentucky:
Quentin was a quick guard and tough to handle off the bounce. His energy was good all camp. He played downhill and made shots in the paint and around the basket. Simmons has good vision and can pass the ball well.

Kenyon Goodin 2023 Louisville, Kentucky:
Goodin was very impressive to watch all day. He has long arms and uses them on the defensive end to create deflections and steals. Offensively, he’s a PG and is very creative to draw and kick. He always makes the right play. He’s a tough guard to plan for due to his ability to handle with either hand and shoot the ball from all three levels. Kenyon has potential to be a big time prospect.

Dakota Patterson 2023 Corbin, Kentucky:
Patterson is a 6’3 PF that has guard skills and can play either on the wing or in the paint. He has big shoulders and is very athletic and mobile. This young prospect is a rebounding machine using his good timing and brute strength to move opponents to grab rebounds off the glass or out of his area. He can shoot the ball consistently out to 15 feet. He will knock down an occasional 3, but his best attributes consist of putting guys in the basket in the paint.

Gavin Grubbs 2023 Trigg Co, Kentucky:
Gavin was a nice sized PG that thrived while playing on the ball. He used his creative handle to get by defenders and in the lane for shots and dishes. He showed a consistent mid-range shot, and ability to finish through contact at the rim. Grubbs was also a solid defender.

Keith Robinson 2023 Louisville, Kentucky:
Robinson is a PF with a long and lanky frame that he uses to bang and beat guys up in the paint area. He seems to thrive off physicality. He presses hard to make plays on both ends of the floor. Keith has good feet, and can catch and finish well in the post. He showed an ability to step out and cash in on the mid-range as well. This young prospect has good timing on his jump on defense, and protects the rim well.

Kendric Adams 2022 Trigg Co, Kentucky:
This young man was one of the strongest kids physically with a good frame.  Adams was very active and grabbed a ton of rebounds, while blocking several shots as well. His effort was relentless defensively. Offensively, he is an athletic high flying slasher that can finish above the rim.  He can effectively play multiple position on both sides of the ball.

Hagan Harrison 2022, Clark Co, Kentucky:
Harrison is one of the top 2022 PG in the state of Kentucky and it’s obvious to see why when you watch him play.  The PG has a tight handle and exceptional vision which he uses to make play after play. He is a big time set up guy, but can get to the bucket and finish for himself as well. Harrison will get some good Varsity minutes this year and can learn a lot from his senior leader in Jordan Graham. 

Jack Edelen 2022, Louisville, Kentucky:
Jack is quick with the ball and plays with a high IQ and a lot of passion.  He seems to know where his teammates are at all times, finds them, and makes plays. The PG is crafty with the ball and finishes comfortably with either hand when attacking the basket.  If you leave your hand down he will make you pay from 3.  We are looking forward to see how his game improves because he already has a lot of skill and is fun to watch.

Markell Bell 2023 Lebanon, Kentucky
Bell is a lefty bull dog that somehow makes his way to the basket anytime he wants.  He has great touch and a good feel for the game.  The combo guard knows how to use his strength to his advantage and will post up smaller guards. Very skilled offensively with a good-looking jump shot. Look for him to be a problem this year at the Varsity level for Marion County.

Ji Webb 2022 Owensboro, Kentucky:
Ji is a long athletic Forward that plays hard and gives a lot of effort on both sides of the ball.  Offensively, he is still working on his game and finishes in transition and around the basket for now.  Defensively, Webb is a problem. Defends multiple positions, runs the floor hard, rebounds, and blocks shots.

Kyran Tilley 2023 Louisville, Kentucky
Tilley was the most skilled 2023 PG at our MS camp.  His vision is great and his game reflects his unselfishness as you watch him make play after play for others.  He can score it from all over and in bunches when he gets going.  One of the best things about this PG is the fact that he keeps his turnovers at a minimum.
