2020 PF Zed Key

BRENTWOOD, Ny. -- One of the most impressive young players we came across in July was 2020 Brentwood (NY) PF Zed Key. One of the best players on a loaded New York Jayhawks 15U squad, Zed was highly productive and showed he will be a player down the road.

The big fella is a great rebounder with good hands. He grabs everything that comes in his are and is strong enough to finish through contact. Zed has soft touch around the basket and knows how to use his body to create separation for himself. His motor is great and often outworks the defense to get easy baskets for himself.

“My team goals for this season include having a better record than last year, winning a county championship, and winning a long island championship. My individual goal is to average a double-double this season and make the all state team.”

He already holds offers from Cincinnati, Iona, and Stony Brook. He took a visit to Stony Brook at the end of June and currently has plans to go to West Virginia for an unofficial in October.

His AAU coach, Prophet Kates, had this to say about him: “This kid sprints the floor harder than any big I've seen this summer. He has great hands and soft touch around the rim/ block shots and rebounds.. Has a nice mid range stroke from 15-17 feet and his putting the ball on the floor more and more expanding his game. It’s no wonder bigger schools are starting to call about him.”
