2020 PG Jalen Terry

FLINT, Mich. -- There wasn’t a more talked about player by the camp staff and media in attendance than 2020 Flint Beecher (MI) PG Jalen Terry. This tough point guard made himself known with his will to play hard and defend like no other player in the camp. He holds the keys to a talented The Family 15u team that has only lost 3 games all spring.

He was an impact freshman from the day he got onto the team at Flint Beecher, despite playing with one of the state’s most successful lead guards: EMU Signee Malik Ellison. He went on to become a crucial piece to a team that went 23-5 and won the Michigan Class C championship for the 3rd year in a row.

He may be small but, athletically, Jalen is explosive and can finish above the rim in transition. He understands how to use ball screens, and was a killer in the pick and roll this weekend with his travel teammate, Isaiah Jackson. When the defender went under the screen, he pulled it back and let it fly from 3. Other times he would penetrate the defense and find the open man. This kid just understands how to play.

As a player, Jalen is just getting started. His best basketball is still ahead but his ability to defender, his understanding of the game, and especially his ability to run the pick and roll sets him apart from most peers at his position. There’s no offers on interest yet, but this is a kid high major schools will get to know about soon.

His game makes him one of the must-see players on a talented Family squad heading into July.
