2020 PG Ethan Morton

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The city of Pittsburgh hasn’t exactly been a recruiting hotbed in recent years. However, the talent level has begun to go up again and a couple very talented players have emerged. 2020 Butler (PA) PG Ethan Morton has combined a strong freshman year, averaging, to go with a strong spring with a talented Ohio Basketball Club 15U squad.

This past weekend at the Crossroads Elite camp, Ethan showed off an advanced and smooth offensive game. He plays the right way, never forcing shots or playing selfish, and most of his shots come within the flow of the offense. Ethan is highly skilled and handles it well. The guard’s IQ is high on both ends and it benefits his game.

He’s been working on improving his game since this AAU season. “I want to be an even better shooter. I want to get better on defense. And, of course, getting faster and stronger.”

He has an early offer from Miami (OH) and interest from Penn State, WVU, Duquesne, Pitt, and Indiana. This past high school season, he stopped by West Virginia for an unofficial, and hit Indiana after he got off the plane this weekend. It’s easy to see that Ethan is going to develop into a high-level recruit, if he isn’t already, and schools from all over the Midwest and East coast are going to come calling for his services.

On West Virginia: “I loved the atmosphere down there. The whole state is behind the team and it’s really awesome to see.”

On Indiana: “The facilities were crazy nice. Coach (Archie) Miller is a great guy. He knows how to coach point guards, and is a Western PA guy as well. I like that.”
