2018 F Christian Lorng

ALLEN, Ky. -- Not known well outside of his region heading into this AAU season, 2018 Christian Lorng has made a big name for himself. The native of France is a large piece of the Louisville Magic 17U’s 8-0 start on the Adidas Gauntlet, one of only 4 undefeated teams remaining. Christian averages 10.3 ppg, and 7.9 RPG while manning the paint for one of Adidas’s best squads.

Coming off a great high school season with the up-and-coming Wesley Christian program in Allen, KY, Christian has become a talked about big in the Midwest and beyond. He has begun to blow up, and his high school coach Dave Meddings says it was only a matter of time: “Christian just wants it. He gives all that he has all the time and has bought into getting better. He’s a leader and a great role model off the court.”

“Christian has improved tremendously in the last year. He worked his tail off this season. He often gets labeled raw and that’s not the case. He’s got touch that isn’t something you can teach to go along with a work ethic and personality that most players would be jealous of.” – Dave Meddings, head coach

Christian is a strong and physical big man who has the ability to control the paint. His ability to block shots and live on the glass is a skill that goes a long way. He has a good back to the basket game and has soft touch in the paint. He still needs to become effective outside of the paint, but his best basketball is ahead of him. He continues to learn the game and gets better every time we see him. Our staff loves this kid and one day in the future he will make some coach very happy.

Since the start of AAU, Christian has added offers from Tennessee, Houston, Creighton, and South Florida to go with Middle Tennessee State and UAB. More high major schools are showing interest, and with his strong play in July, many more should come calling to offer.
