2017 PG Keith Clemons

ALLEN, Ky. -- 2017 PG Keith Clemons is a name quickly emerging on our radars and that should also be emerging on the radars of college coaches. After spending his first 3 years at Huntington St. Joe’s in West Virginia, the Norcross, GA native has moved to Wesley Christian in Kentucky for his senior year.

“It’s going great. We play a national schedule, which allows me to play against better players while also getting exposure I didn’t have in West Virginia. It has taken some adjustment, as most games we play against multiple Division I players in high-intensity games.”

This shifty point guard showed his ability to take defenders off the bounce during his first 3 years of high school while also displaying playmaking for himself and teammates. He is extremely hard to stay in front of and often makes plays down the stretch that lead his team to wins. It has been evident that he has worked long and hard on his jumpshot, a skill that he was lacking in his early years.

“I mostly have been working on my shot both mid range and behind the arc. A guard my size has to perfect in those areas.”

His improved jumpshot coupled with his playmaking skills have helped Keith emerge as a potential prospect from coaches at all levels. “A couple of the schools that have reached out to me are Ohio, Kent State, Missouri State, High Point, and Navy. My coaches have been talking to some schools about me as well.” While no offers have been put on the table yet, his play this season will have coaches calling soon.

When asked about his goals for this season, Keith said, “I want our team to collectively get better, both on the court and in our understanding of the game. I see myself as a leader of the team so its I have to help us get there.” With a very talented team around him, the floor general is thriving and it won’t be long before the right school offers him a scholarship.
