2021 G Kennedy Chandler

MEMPHIS, Tn. -- A point guard has the most specialized role of any position on the floor. Point Guards are expected to run a team’s offense by controlling the basketball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. When thinking of the qualities that coaches want in a point guard and the qualities that make point guards successful, its easy to see those qualities in Memphis, TN native Kennedy Chandler, a 2021 point guard having a huge spring.

This past high school season was a good one for Chandler as he led Briarcrest Christian High School to a 29-2 record and a Division II Tennessee State Championship. The point guard had a stellar season averaging around 20 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals per game. He gained several accolades over the last year, some of which include; Division II Tennessee Mr. Basketball, State Tournament MVP, and All-Tournament Team.

Kennedy has continued his on the court success in AAU this spring with MOKAN Elite 17U, where he has been one of the top point guards in the highly competitive Nike EYBL, one of the top leagues in the country. On the circuit, he is averaging 14 points, 5.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. MOKAN Elite finished 1st in Division C with a 10-3 record and qualified for the prestigious Peach Jam tournament in July. It should be noted that success in the EYBL typically translates to success in college and beyond.

The young floor general is proving himself to be a top point guard in the country. ESPN has him ranked #43 overall and the #7 PG in the country for the 2021 class. His game speaks for itself he consistently puts up numbers. Kennedy is a true leader on the floor that facilitates, scores, and locks down him man defensively. He is PG with tight handles and a quick first step that makes it look effortless when getting by his man off the bounce. He is a great finisher when he gets into the paint and is an athletic kid that plays above the rim. Chandler is the total package at the position because he can not only setup teammates for high percentage shots, but he scores from all 3 levels at a high percentage himself.

If you are a high-level college program and looking for a PG that can help to lead your team, look no further, because Kennedy Chandler can do so. He holds offers from Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Alabama, Illinois, Georgia Tech, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Arizona State, Iowa State, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, SMU, Missouri, Maryland, and Tulane. An impressive list thus far that will grow even bigger after the 2019 Peach Jam.
