The leaves are changing colors, the air is a bit chilly, and official visits are all the rage, which means only one thing: September is upon us. Without further adieu, let's take a look at this morning's Report.
After visiting the defending national champions over the weekend, 2016 five-star point guard Frank Jackson is set to make his college choice tonight at 8:30 ET. Jackson is down to just four schools on his list, as the Blue Devils, Utah, Stanford, and BYU are all potential landing spots.
The top-notch guard put on a show at Under Armour's Elite24 just a few weeks ago, dazzling the crowd with a 360 dunk and finishing with a team-high 20 points in the showcase game underneath the Brooklyn Bridge. He was equally as impressive during the AAU season, averaging 24 points and four rebounds in his ten Adidas Gauntlet games.
As mentioned at the top, official visits are all the rage of September and October, and five-star guard Kobi Simmons keeps the trend going, albeit a bit early as he visited Kentucky over the weekend. Simmons has been a hot commodity for the high-major schools left on his list.
The Alpharetta-native visited UK last weekend, and still has official visits planned for UNLV (Sept. 4) and Ohio State (Sept. 11) in the near future. Simmons previously also has listed North Carolina, Arizona, and Xavier as others still in play.
While Simmons visited last weekend, there is a visit in the very-near future for big man Marques Bolden, who is set to step on campus Wednesday for his first official visit after cutting his own list Monday morning. Other schools such as Alabama, Duke, Kansas, Oklahoma, TCU, and Wake Forest made the cut, and as the fall heats up, it will be interesting to see if Bolden keeps the 'Cats rolling on their hot streak.
We ran a piece last week introducing 2016 Wheeling Park forward Phil Bledsoe, and the senior continues to rise, adding another DI offer, this time from Eastern Kentucky. Bledsoe has seen all kinds of mid-majors recruiting him, including Winthrop and Marshall, two schools with official visits already.
The visit to Winthrop came last weekend, and the Thundering Herd will get their shot at the DB Hoops forward this upcoming weekend on campus. For more on Bledsoe's game, take a look at our Player Intro series featuring the senior.
