The Owensboro-native is transferring to post-graduate prep school

OWENSBORO, Ky. -- Last Friday, Justin Miller officially withdrew from Division II Kentucky Wesleyan College and decided that he would take his talents to a postgraduate prep school. He has now found his landing place at 22ft Academy in Greenville, SC. The move will officially make him a prospect in the 2016 class.

“Ever since I was in the 8th grade I have had an important goal set for myself. That goal is to play at the Division I level and to be able to compete and make an impact there as well," MIller told NextUpRecruits.

As a senior, Miller was a 6-foot-7, 280-pound power forward and was one of the most productive big men in the 2015 Kentucky class. The forward has been working extremely hard on his body, and his hard work is really showing as he has lost approximately 40 pounds over the past three months. He has toned down and is now down to his current weight of 240, which will make him a much more intriguing prospect to college coaches.

"My body has changed so much," Miller said. "If I keep working on my jumper and putting the ball on the floor so that I can have a face up game, I truly feel that I will accomplish my goal."

Miller had a stellar senior year at Owensboro HS, averaging 17 points, nine rebounds, and three assists per game.  He had many accolades as a senior such as first-team all Third region and earning Kentucky State Tournament MVP honors after his team won the Sweet 16 tournament.

"Most of all, I want to thank god for opening this door for me and I cannot and will not let him down," Miller explained.

We have always believed that Miller was a sleeper in HS, with getting offers from only Coppin State and South Carolina State. We now truly believe that he will obtain multiple Division I scholarship offers, and are anxious to see what level he ends up at after his move to post-grad.
