2017 wing Jaylen Sebree has had a crazy HS career, where will it take him next?

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. -- Of all the things that have happened over the course of Jaylen Sebree’s basketball career, a move from University Heights (KY) to Christian County (KY) is one of the least crazy actions  going on for the 2017 wing. Coming off a sophomore season in which he averaged 16.8 points and 9.5 rebounds, a move to the Louisville Magic AAU program would be the start of a blowup.

Sebree is an extremely talented wing with boatloads of potential. He has the ability to get to the rim with ease, but occasionally struggles to finish through contact. His jumpshot is pure and when he’s got confidence in his shot, can heat up in a hurry. The one thing that sets him apart is his motor  and when he’s engaged, the Kentucky-native truly looks like a high major prospect. He’s got as much potential as anyone in the 2017 class in Kentucky.

To begin to tap into his potential, Sebree needs to bulk up. When  his frame starts to fill out, his athleticism will improve and he will go from potential to scary. He can also be an absolute menace on the defensive side of the ball after he begins to realize just how good he can be. His game doesn’t have holes, just room for improvement as he goes from no-brainer mid-major to a true high-major prospect.

His offer list includes a recent offer from Indiana, his first high-major, along with VCU, WKU, NKU, Samford, and Manhattan. He also has serious interest from Oklahoma, as they sat in on a ton of his games throughout the July evaluation periods.

His move to Christian County should benefit him majorly, giving him the chance to be the man on a team we hear can be very good and challenge for the region title. As is typical in the Second region, the path to Rupp goes through Hopkinsville but if any one player can change that, it’s Jaylen Sebree.
