Amaree Abram is one of the top Point Guards in the country for the 2022 class. The 6’3 Castaic, CA native finished his senior year ranked #64 overall in the Top 100 on 247Sports.com and was rated as the #12 point guard in the country. Playing at Southern California Academy, Amaree was a standout that gained some pretty valuable attention throughout his tenure. He told me that he felt his senior season was his best one yet and he really felt like he improved his game in a variety of ways! Although he was doing his thing this year, he told me that he still has some tricks left in his bag that he has not yet showed and he still feels like he has a lot of room for improvement moving forward.

Throughout his recruiting process, Amaree really took the time to enjoy it all. He told me it was a rough up and down process, but he felt that at the end of the day, that he had made the best overall decision for himself and his family!

Before making his decision to commit to Ole Miss, Amaree had to weigh out all his options. The schools that really recruited him the hardest were MarylandDePaulSt. John’sTennesseeLouisvilleXavierHoward, & Ole Miss. All these schools offered him along with Texas A&MTexas Tech, & Wichita State. Amaree only took recruiting visits to three of the schools that offered him: Louisville, Texas A&M, & Ole Miss!

When I asked Amaree what it was about Ole Miss that stood out to him, he told me “When I went on my visit, I just loved the environment, campus, and the fan base. The coaching staff was very transparent from the start and our relationship built since the first day I decommitted. Shout out to Coach Hamilton, he played a big part in why I chose to make the decision I made.” Amaree looks forward to becoming the best basketball player and person that he can be as he prepares for the next level next year!

Ole Miss fans can look forward to the toughness, leadership, and effectiveness that Amaree brings to both sides of the floor! I look forward to keeping up with him and watching his success develop on the Big Stage.
